Algae are important constituents of an aquatic ecosystem; they are the primary producers of the pelagic and benthic zones because they support aquatic food chains, produce oxygen, and cycle aqueous nutrients.  However in this anthropogenic age when nutrient fluxes to lentic systems are greater as a result of human activity, the algal community can diminish the ecological, recreational, and aesthetic values of a lake in significant ways. Some algae may also pose risks to human health.  Aquatic Ecosystem Research uses scientific approaches to collect environmental data and enumerate the constituents of the pelagic algae community.  Using these data we develop strategies for managing the pelagic algal community and to provide our clients with piece of mind by restoring their beautiful lake ecosystems.  Below are our specific algae services:
